The man with the golden gun

The BBC's Gabriel Gatehouse in Sirte: "I have spoken to the man who says that he captured him... he was brandishing a golden pistol"

It's still not clear exactly what happened at the very end. Some reports claim Qaddafi was captured while wounded in both legs, was taken away by ambulance, but died of the bullet wounds sustained (before?) he was taken into custody. According to one NTC commander, he shouted "Don't shoot!" before his capture. Other claim he was shot in the head while trying to escape.
