A list of the World's Most Influential Jews is bound to make people squirmy to begin with, but you have to wonder with the Jerusalem Post considered whether they were writing copy for every dictator in the Middle East by putting Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg at No. 1, crediting his site with having "enabled and encouraged" the events of the Arab Spring. (The "Jewish power-providers of the Arab Spring revolts," as the headline puts it.)
The Facebook-as-Mossad plot meme is already a staple of anti-Semitic conspiracy theorists. Now, the next time Bashar al-Assad or Muammar al-Qaddafi want to blame their protests on the Jews, they can say they read it in the Jerusalem Post.
In any case, Zuckerberg is certainly powerful -- though he's downplayed his company's role the Arab Spring -- and Jewish, though he's a self-described atheist -- so his inclusion on the list makes sense, though I might have gone with Ben Bernanke for the top spot. (Dominique Strauss-Kahn would have been a contender until last month.)
Overall the list seems a little biased toward Israeli government officials with negligible global influence, and there are some odd omissions. George Soros? The Sulzbergers? Does Natalie Portman really have more influence in Hollywood than Steven Spielberg or Harvey Weinstein?
Perhaps I'm being too critical, but what's a list of Jews for if not fodder for argument?

You know it's a slow news day when crap like this is posted. There isn't a nazi behind every rock Josh!
The Arab despots have many sources of reference to bash Israel. Take Mel Gibson...
America’s Fatal Love Affair With Israel Gained Us a Permanent War.
If we had followed George Washington’s advice in his “Farewell Address”, we would not have become involved in the “War on Terror”. I loaded his complete address in my blog and highlighted the parts that are of special interest to Americans that believe in the American limited constitutional republic type of government.
By intervening in the Israel-Muslim conflict, we created the conditions that started the American war with Muslim terrorists. Intervening in other countries always leads to war and enemies. Terrorism is the strategy of the powerless when they fight the powerful. The next step in this permanent war is that terrorists will detonate dirty or conventional nuclear bombs on the NATO countries and America. We have to stop the steps that are leading us to this end and change the strategy to win and end the war before it escalates.
Why are we providing Israel annually with $3.5 billion American taxpayer debt dollars? They are rich and can afford to defend themselves. Israel has nuclear weapons and a strong military; they don’t need our money or participation in this Israeli-Muslim conflict that has been going on even before the founding of Israel in 1948. Why are we paying Egypt annually over $1.5 billion in foreign aid? The American taxpayer is paying foreign aid to many nations, but Communist China has no foreign aid. China buys oil fields, mines and finances the government debts of the American and now European governments. China is obtaining real power and influence by following the policy that George Washington explained in his “Farewell Address” advice to the American people.
The global interventionist policy gained us Israel’s enemies. The terrorist attack on 9/11 is a result of intervening in a conflict that concerns Israelis and Muslims. Osama Bin Laden’s strategy was to draw America into conflict in the Muslim world to bankrupt us like what happened to the former interventionist, expansionist Soviet Union. The Afghanistan war and the many Soviet global interventions bankrupted the Soviet Union and caused its ignoble collapse in 1991. We have been playing Osama’s game since 9/11 and we are losing our wealth and power.
We get most of our oil from Canada and other suppliers that are not in the Middle East. The Communist Chinese announced last year that they now have a controlling interest in Iraqi oil and proudly announced the receipt of the first oil shipments. It is clear that they have a strategy of gaining real power at the expense of the follies of other powers. We are fighting a war against maybe 2,000 Al Qaeda terrorists without a military strategy to win the war. We just added thousands of new enemies by intervening in Libya. The Libyans that Obama killed have families. Every bomb that falls in the American Muslim war is financed by debt and is a nail in our coffin.

hello MR Gil, how are you?
my name is Mohamed i am Egyptian born American, i am really interested and really like your opinions in the middle east problem or the Israeli - Arab problem. but by the way, it is not an Israeli- Muslim problem, the religions have nothing to do with this conflict, that's all what i want to tell you, we Muslims believe in Moses, Jesus and Mohamed so it has nothing to do with the religions.
second of all i agree more than 100% with you in the aspect of the American financial aid to Israel and Egypt. the problem is that "unfortunately" the US does not cure the disease they just give pain medication not really curing the problem,, let me give you an example: how did the Egyptian-Israeli 1973 war ended? let me answer myself for you, the president brought both sides who never like each other "before or after the war" and convinced them to stop the war by giving Israel and Egypt money to stop fighting!!!!!!! ironically the US government does not give them cash at least to help the both countries with their own problems, US gave them the money in the form of MILITARY aid!!!!!!!!!!!!! so basically what we have here is that the US bought what is called "peace" between them by giving them more weapons, instead of sitting down together and really really solve the tough problems among the Arab and the Israeli parties. so thats exactly what i told about not treating the disease, that can be treated easily by the way, but giving only pain medications for both sides. ok, now after 30 or more years of the "peace" treaty between both sides let's see what do we have here? lets take a look at the Israeli side, they had ALOT of military and financial "unnecessary" support from the tax payer money like you and me, and they still hate the Arab and they kill the palestanians as an ordinary procedure that's been done on a daily basis, and they have enough weapons enough to fire up the region in a war that could bring the whole world back to the dark ages. ok, now lets take a look at the Egyptian side, unlike Israel ,Egypt is a poor country so instead of giving the Egyptians cash money or pumping in more American investment in the region that could solve their misery financial situation, they gave them more weapons and more F-16s and expanding the Egyptian military by pumping in the amount of money you mentioned in your response,,
the alleged peace treaty stooped the war between them, but enforced the hatred feeling towards the American people in this part of the world. In Egypt people really do not hate the regular average American tourist that come to visit the country, they hate his government instead. If you asked the very simple poor Egyptian guy that walks the streets of Cairo everyday, why do you hate America? instantly and without hesitations or thinking he will tell you because America always favors Israel and America solved each and every problem in the world except the middle east problem!!!! the Arab people are not aggressive by nature but they only want their little peace of land that is called Palestine back, thats it, is it that hard for the American government to help us get our OWN land back? that's all what the average Arab need the land back, and as you mentioned the only way to defend your self if your are weak and fighting against a powerful side like Israel, is the suicide bombing, the bombing that have been irritating the Israeli government for years, what makes me laugh is that after every attack the Israeli defense minister shows up in the media wondering for the reasons why they have attacked!!!!!!!!
sorry for bothering you , but what i want to say is that FAIR solutions for the middle east problem that gives the Arab their land back and provides REAL peace for Israel will really really not only improve the American lost image but also will turn the hatred feeling into good ones.
thank you ,
sincerely,
Mohamed Adel
Only one out of five comments above are explicitly antisemitic! Good work guys.
