Hasidic paper airbrushes Hillary Clinton out of Sit Room photo

Notice anyone missing in the above version of the now-iconic Osama bin Laden sit room photo, as published by the Brooklyn-based Hasidic newspaper Der Tzitung? (Via the Failed Messiah blog.) The paper seems to have airbrushed out Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as well as Director for Counterterrorism Audrey Tomason. Here's the original:


Apparently, terrorist-killing is not a job for the ladies. For what it's worth, it's not just American female leaders that get this treatment from the ultra-Orthodox press. The Israeli paper Yated Neeman photoshopped all the female ministers out of a photo of Israel's cabinet in 2009.

As Failed Messiah notes, the White House's image-usage police specifically forbids these photos from being "manipulated in any way." Not that that's really stopped the Internet's lol-merchants from capitalizing on the image.
