Please join the New America Foundation's Middle East Task Force, Foreign Policy Magazine,
and the Project on Middle East Political Science (POMEPS) in hosting a
discussion for the official launch of the Middle East Channel, ForeignPolicy.com's new premiere site for discussion and analysis of Middle East issues and developments.
Susan Glasser, Editor in Chief of Foreign Policy, will introduce the Channel, what it's about, and how it fits into the Foreign Policy
family, while George Washington University Professor Marc Lynch will
give brief remarks on behalf of fellow partners on the Channel--POMEPS
and NAF's Middle East Task Force.
A panel discussion will follow based on the new cover story in Foreign Policy magazine by Aaron David Miller, 'The False Religion of Middle East Peace', where he will be joined by Rob Malley and Daniel Levy. Against the backdrop of the relaunch of Israeli-Palestinian talks (albeit indirect ones), the discussion will speak to how and why peace has thus far proven so elusive post-Oslo and whether it's time to give up or try something new. What will all this mean for an Obama administration that has made this a priority since day one?
Passport, FP’s flagship blog, brings you news and hidden angles on the biggest stories of the day, as well as insights and under-the-radar gems from around the world.
