Iranian soldiers in full camouflage march during the Army Day parade in Tehran on April 18, 2010. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Israel was on its way to collapse, as Iran's military displayed a range of home-built drones and missiles at the annual Army Day parade.
This photo (or rather, last year's version) was blogged about previously on The Lede at the New York Times. There was a caption contest at the time.
A comment made by many was that the 'snipers' in the 2009 Army Day parade were carrying AK 47s... good to maybe 300 yards. I see that they now are carrying camouflaged AK47s. I would have assumed they used dragunov rifles, It seems like perhaps a show of non-existent force, entirely for domestic propaganda. Who knows. Military parades are often a staple of regimes with a sense of impotence.
