The State Department has announced that Secretary of State Hillary is cutting short her trip to Asia "due to the devastating earthquake in Haiti and its severe aftermath." Clinton gave a speech on U.S. Asia Policy in Honolulu earlier today and was expected to travel to Australia, New Guinea, and New Zealand.
The survivors of the Haiti Earthquake desperately need all the aid we can give.
Why is Haiti, the worst place in the Western Hemisphere that is of no value to the U.S., more important than our relations in Asia with Australia and NZ? US aid in the form of money and people will flow anyway although let's be honest, it won't make much of a difference in the long run.
