A giant serving of hummus weighting 4,087.5 kilos (8992.5 pounds) is seen resting on a six-meters (20 foot) satellite dish while attempting to break a new world record in the Arab Israeli village of Abu Gosh on January 8, 2010. Fifty chefs in the Arab-Israeli village of Abu Ghosh mashed up over four tonnes of hummus, beating the Guinness World Record set in Lebanon just months ago. The weight is about twice as much as the previous record set in October in neighbouring Lebanon, Israel's political and culinary rival.

I got a cleint for you

Ismail haniya, the Prime Minister if Hamastan in Gaza is close to run into bankrupt. He needs not only his financial records repaired, also his party's reputation vis-a-vis the rest of the world.

Give him a call.

Kudos to Israel.

Lets hope that, Humus and falafel will be the only subject for which Israel & Lebanon will go to war (of who's ass is bigger, and heavier).

eating humus, and contemplating reality

upon reading this post it really got me craving for some humus, which I had had only 3 times in the last 24 hours. so now as I eat the savory goodness I have never felt more patriotic. I'm an Israeli, part of that often vilified “extreme right" of the settler movement. yes I am even writing this from my home in the southern hebron hills which is what most people would consider the "occupied territories". what can be shown quite nicely though in you're post is a slice of real Israel not the one packaged and delivered by western media. here we see that in Abu Ghosh, a beautiful city (calling it a village is somewhat deceiving) Israelis Arab and Jewish alike got together to patriotically makmade a big vat of chickpea goodness . abu Ghosh which is not far west from jerusalem is a city made almost entirley out of mansions, buetiful big buildings that I'm sure most reading this would envy. those who think israel is racest and subjects people because of their religion should think again and look closer, for everywhere that minorities act civilized and peacefully, israel acts acoordingly and all prosper, and those cases where the population activly targets israelis and/or harbors terrorists, israel tries to minimize the threat while still actively trying to ease the conditions of those very same people. take it from me i served as an officer in the IDF applying those principles in the field. it is time for people to throw away misconceptions that were fed to you over the years and to look for the truth which is never black and white yet sometimes clearer than expected.

world records

,it is sometimes amusing to read stories on food and breaking world records. Here in my country, every time there is a town/city/province fiesta, more often than not, the host always attempts to go for biggest, longest, etc. and vies for the Guinness World Records. To be honest, I do not see the point of doing so, Anyway, congratulations to Israel for having claimed the crown. As sababa03 has put it, may the humus war be the only subject for w/c the two countries be at war with...

That would make one big spinach wrap

I like to make spinach wraps with spinach, cucumber, tomato, and a layer of hummus spread on the tortilla before rolling it all together. I wonder . . . did they make a big tortilla that I could use.

Nice picture and story. Live Live Naturally.
