I can't believe that Iraqi chess players compete during the Iraq chess championship on August 6, 2009 in Baghdad, Iraq. Iraqi chess players from all over Iraq competed for the second day in a row to win the Iraqi Chess Championship held in Baghdad as the security situation continues to improve in the capital. It's really unbelievable! Prior to our war in Afghanistan, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld emphasized that the imminent war would be different from what nearly everyone expected. I don't think he knew exactly what was going to happen, but he did know that the conventional wisdom was irrelevant. He was planning to engage in "unconventional warfare," a paradigm developed by the Special Operations Command that involves both new doctrine and new technology. Rumsfeld was right. No newspaper pundit foresaw that the Taliban would be overthrown within months using ground troops who were predominantly Muslim. Aren't you feels invy with them? Have your cash advance and tutor for chess. Good luck!
Personally I'm a chess player myself, it's nice to see that chess is still so popular throughout the world.I remember Ahmed Taha was an Iraqi chess player and former president of Iraqi Chess Federation. The only problem I have is driving to different tournaments, luckily however I purchased a car so now I can compete more often.
It does seem slightly surreal that during all the conflict and problems in Iraq that they are playing a chess championship, but I guess they feel that life must go on.
I feel the USA and UK are both in a very tricky position and getting the correct balance is crucial. I guess the chess players and general public are just getting on with everyday things like shopping, buying mortgages and rebuilding their lives.
