Via Slate, here's a nifty webcam that shows you live images of Russia taken from across the international dateline in Alaska. (Actually it's the Russian island of Big Diomede from the Alaskan Little Diomede):

I don't see any nuclear missiles but I'm sure that's just because of the condensation on the lens.

Sarah Palin keeps an eye on

Sarah Palin keeps an eye on that webcam 24/7 to watch for international developments. She's a Russia expert, you know.

Please Correct Diomede Webcam Link

Hello,

I am the Educational Technology Director for the school district that owns the camera you mention, and did the original installation.

Your link goes to a webcam hijack site that steals the stream, and does not credit us, or link to us at all.

We would appreciate that your links go to our school district's official page for the image stream.

The REAL link to the steerable camera, which really does look across the International Dateline, and sees Russia quite clearly is:

As a recovering political junkie, and former Foreign Policy subscriber, I thank you for linking to us!

Regards,
