totally disgusting

what kind of mother who knows her unwed teenage daughter is pregnant accepts mccains veep offer and thrusts the poor child into the national spotlight? i feel sorry for poor bristol. did they somehow think we wouldn't find out? this woman is totally nuts. she was a fervent buchanan supporter in 2000, has close ties to the alaskan independence party, etc. dear lord. just the kind of person your average redneck conservative schmo in middle america can relate to...

One thing no one is talking

One thing no one is talking about is how is this woman going to: 1.) take care of her newborn 2.) take care of her pregnant daughter 3.) take care of her next grandchild 4.) take care of her 4 other kids 5.) take care of her husband and THEN take care of her job a the Vice-President of the United States. She has too much on her plate already without the VP nomination. Let's all just do her a favor and vote Obama...

Hooray for sexism

Let's do her — and other working mothers — a good turn and not insult them. This "Palin should be at home" meme is blatantly sexist: Ladies: Put your career on hold until everything in you're family stops happening. Mothers have been working for centuries; get a grip.

Keep pushing this stuff... Obama supporters going rabid like this will push McCain right into the White House, by pissing off women and mothers in America. Republicans want Obama supporters to trash Palin, and push women away from the party. Just like what happened with all the Hillary Clinton trash.

Full disclosure: I dislike McCain. But I am not gonna sit here and defend idiot, sexist behavior from other anti-McCain folks.

FP Passport readers, Democrat or Republican or other, are better than this surely.

Okay - nice rant... Is it still true that she has a retarded baby and a pregnant teenager to deal with? She's a mom first - and she's gonna put that before running the country any day of the week. What's gonna happen is that if McCain does get elected, Palin is going to screw up any presidential hopes for women in the future. Hillary Clinton can kiss her hopes of the presidency goodbye. Try that on for sexism...

I mean, OK, its family business and she is a tough lady and all those stories about the situation and danger that the baby was born in, it was her choice not to go to hospital; and the oldest daughter loves her boyfriend and they want to marry and she doesn't think like my sister "After my PhD!" these are all OK from a family which is sound and together and successful and kinda normal American, right?! BUT WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN MCCAIN'S MIND? DOES HE REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM 8 YEARS AGO BECAUSE OF RUMORS?

Listen to Obama

I am almost certain that a majority of you are Obama supporters. So heed his advice that "people's families are off-limits and children are especially off-limits" (http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/09/obama_blasts_mccain_camp_over.html). Barack himself was born when his mother was 18. If anything this should be a time to highlight the issue of teen pregnancy in America but it should in no way be a reason to attack the McCain/Palin ticket and Palin's ability to serve as vice president.

WRONG

john mccain rushed into a veep decision without knowing anything about the person that he selected and without vetting her properly. if he becomes president, will he be as careless and nonchalant on the critical issues regarding domestic policy and national security? it's a matter of judgment and wisdom.

LOL!

I love it! The McCain campaign says "I assure you, she was fully vetted!" and you buy it hook, line and sinker. Hilarious! The truth, of course, is that she was hardly vetted at all. Even employees who run Palin's hometown newspaper in Wasilla confirmed to reporters that no one had requested access to their archive that has hundreds of stories on Palin's tenure as mayor. In other words, McCain never bothered to consult a source that could've confirmed that Palin was corrupt, almost recalled, and has disdain for the USA (is a former secessionist). Just because McCain tells you she was vetted doesn't mean you should believe him. The evidence clearly suggests that she was not.
