Worst airport runners-up

This week's FP List of the world's worst airports provides a fairly comprehensive catalog of departure-lounge suffering around the world. Unfortunately, a few worthy contenders didn't quite make it in under the word limit. Thankfully, the blog gives us a chance to highlight a few (dis)honorable mentions.
1. Kai Tak International Airport (Hong Kong): Would have been a shoo-in because of the famous crosswind shuffle that pilots had to perform in order to land between skyscrapers but it closed in 1998. Check out video here.
2. Kabul International Airport (Afghanistan): Until recently, was surrounded by land mines with visible plane wrecks on the tarmac. It's improving, though!
3. John F. Kennedy International Airport (New York, USA): America's very own Charles de Gaulle. (See the original List to learn why CDG is so bad.)
4. Princess Juliana International Airport (St. Maarten): This should explain why.
