How's the surge going?
Thu, 06/14/2007 - 3:54pm
Not so well, according to the Pentagon's mandated quarterly review released yesterday. The last bar below represents average weekly attacks since the surge began. Attacks on coalition forces, Iraqi forces, and civilians are at some of their highest levels since early 2004. Surge supporters will no doubt say that the strategy needs time to have its intended effect, though it's a fair question as to whether they have any real timeline in mind. Things aren't looking rosy for that September review.
