Ahmadinejad's kissing scandal

Richard Gere isn't the only one ruffling feathers with ill-considered PDA. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad scandalized conservatives last week for getting physical with one of his old teachers at a Teacher's Day ceremony.
She happened to be an elderly lady and all he did was kiss her gloved hand, but the country's right-wing media is having none of it. Hezbollah, a conservative paper not affiliated with the more famous Lebanese militant group, slammed him on its front page for "indecency."
Annoyed conservatives are probably the last thing Ahmadinejad needs right now. The president is facing a barrage of domestic criticism—especially for his flamboyant handling of the country's nuclear program—and is currently taking serious flack for the country's high inflation and unemployment rates. As of Sunday, Ahmadinejad reportedly had yet to apologize for his transgression. It'll be interesting to see if he does.
