In Iraq, unexpected grace from a 6-year-old photographer

These lovely photos were taken by Dima, a 6-year-old Iraqi girl who was an "accidental addition" to the Open Shutters project. The initiative, organized by British freelance photographer Eugenie Dolberg, trains Iraqi women in photography so that they can document their lives. Dima, the daughter of the Iraqi project manager, had her own story to tell. The results are beautiful. My favorite photograph is the last one in the series, also above right. The caption reads: "Farah is like an old man sitting on his chair praying."
