Welcome to Thames Town. In Shanghai. That's right. As part of a scheme by the Shanghai municipal government to develop nine satellites towns around the city, each with its own cultural theme, developers have built this mock-UK town, complete with a gothic church and a Tudor pub dispensing ale. About 8000 residents will eventually live in Thames Town, all shelling out big bucks for the privilege.
