Though most of the campaign coverage this week has focused on candidates' personal failings and campaign blunders, the obvious fact remains that both Barack Obama and John McCain have proposed a host of dramatic new policies, and a lot of them don't make much sense. For this week's list, FP runs down ten of Obama's most misguided, pandering, and potentially disastrous policy ideas. Next week, it'll be McCain's turn.
Feel free to use this post to comment on the list. We would love to hear defenses of these proposals as well as more dumb ideas that we may have missed.

honestly...
most of this list is not about bad ideas so much as it is about impractical ideas and good ideas that he shouldn't be talking about! the only genuinely bad ideas are the two relating to energy, especially the ethanol one. i realize he wants us off middle east oil within 10 years (fat chance), but this isn't the way to do it! ethanol subsidies are a BIG component of the global food crisis we're seeing unfold...

Many of Obama's so called 'bad ideas' were in fact quite valid and some were even pretty good. It really depends on what perspective you are using. The points on violence in Haiti and Somalia are also questionable.
Anyway, do take a look if you have the time:
