Chris Wallace of Fox News just reported that former Secretary of State Colin Powell has endorsed Barack Obama. Not a very comfortable moment for John McCain, his guest this morning.

According to Politico's Jonathan Martin, Powell said he had "no plans to campaign for Obama."

Here's the video:

More here from NBC.

... and here's Powell speaking to reporters after his Meet the Press appearance:

I must say, that is quite

I must say, that is quite powerful stuff.

I agree

I was left positively speechless....

That was worth watching.

That was worth watching.

Wow, this exceeded my

Wow, this exceeded my expectations of what Powell would say. He didn't just state that he's endorsing Obama as the better candidate and leave it at that, he gave a very well thought out and reasoned argument for it. This won't do a thing to sway the Palin Pulpit, but it should definitely pull at the remorse moderate and fiscal conservatives must be feeling right now for supporting a campaign that has now turned in such a negative direction. Powerful indeed.

Why sudden change of mind? I

Why sudden change of mind? I mean, he said that he would not campaign for Obama, but now... It's pretty obvious that he is endorsing him to the public!

ERROR/DOES NOT COMPUTE

FYI: Endorsing a candidate publicly and campaigning for a candidate are not the same thing.

The Democrats could still ruin everything

There's only a couple ways the Democrats can screw this up in the next few weeks: http://www.236.com/news/2008/10/17/seven_ways_the_democrats_can_b_9624.php
Let's hope the Joe the Plumber and Ayers zombies don't decide to step in again.

Powell Priority

How could any thinking adult be surprised by this??

Colin Powell is an affirmative action quota Black. Tell me which Blacks put anything ABOVE their race?? None ! Their race is their sole priority period.

How many blacks do you know are supporting McCain??? None, one, huh???
Over 90% are supporting Obama, because he's Black.

Give me a break.

Totally predictable, unless you're an egghead.... and as we've seen with Bush's last election victory, there are Many eggheads in America.

Of course he endorses Obama. If it was Hillary, he would have endorsed McCain. Fools!

Helloooooo!!!!!

Did You Even Listen?

Did you even listen to what the man said in the interview?

Clearly he has more thoughtful and important reasons for supporting Obama than your small brain and narrow mind can conceive.

And as many people here have already noted, Powell is much closer to Obama's style of foreign policy than to the Neocons that are drafting McCain's foreign policy agenda.

What are you doing here anyway? It's obvious you don't read this magazine.
