Launched in 2006 as Foreign Policy’s first foray into blogging, Passport has become the web’s go-to destination for up-to-the-minute analysis of the day’s top international stories as well as serious and silly off-the-beaten-path news items collected from a wide range of domestic and international sources. Updated daily by FP's editors, Passport is both a gateway to the rest of the magazine’s online offerings, and a source of insightful and witty original content. Passport was the Media Industry Newsletter's blog of the year for 2008.
Passport is edited by Joshua Keating, associate editor at FP. He first joined the staff as an editorial intern in August 2007. In addition to FP, he has written and reported for Newsweek International, the Center for Defense Information, Radio Prague, Romania's Adevarul newspaper, and the Jersey Journal. He is a regular commentator on CNN International, and has also appeared on National Public Radio and C-Span. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he graduated from Oberlin College, where he majored in comparative politics and edited the Oberlin Review.
